Fall is Here!

I'm totally loving this weather!

Yesterday the kids I met some friends at the zoo. The weather was perfect and we got to see lots of animals out and about. Of course, we spent a lot of time in the Dino Dig, but that's okay. I got to chit chat with my friend while the kids played. It was a great day!

Then, last night we went (with different friends) to the Tower District to indulge in some yummy dinner and dessert. We ended the night in sweaters, but it wasn't freezing quite yet.

I realize that this weather is mild compared to what others experience. However, I'm definitely a California girl, and when it gets a bit colder, I turn into a baby. I would NOT survive on the East Coast. Heck, even during the day I turn my heater on to 76. Summer time? I keep the air set at 80, sometimes 78 if I'm really hot. ;)

Anyway, I'm looking forward to this time of year. I love when it starts to get colder, that's when I know the holidays are right around the corner! The other day I got in the car and craved the sounds of Christmas music. This morning I broke out the soundtrack to Love Actually, which is as close to Christmas music I'm going to get this early in the season. It just gets me all excited! There will be great food to be had, extra time with close friends, lots and lots of baking going on! The only sad thing? I wish my family were closer. I have my grandparents here, but I miss my aunt, my mom and my brother and sisters. Everyone is so spread out!

I see a trip in my future. :)
